Just ordered a replacement bulb/housing for my Sony KDS-60A2000.... Is the Osram or the Phillip the actual original bulb for this TV? I can't seem to figure that out. Why buy one over the other?
An excellent question. With the Sony KDS-60A2000 it would have shipped with a Phillips bulb originally. Osram (Sylvania) is major brand that makes bulbs as well. Osram and Philips both hold and share the technology patent for the lamp, so they are technologically identical. We would recommend buying the Phillips over the Osram as the Phillips bulb has slightly longer warranty, but the choice is ultimately yours!
